the reason the claim of superiority gets pushback is because that’s putting it in the wrong category.
for a view that is a superiority / inferiority view, it requires a one dimensional line.
so you have one side or the other of a single metric.
but these things usually have many metrics with which to measure and superior/inferior scales work in these limited contexts but not for generalizing.
so for examples science is superior to religion in documenting observations in the natural world.
science is inferior to religion in community building and activism.
both science and religion are useful advisors for politicians but for entirely different reasons.
also i’ve noticed the left wing intolerant often end up right wing intolerant later on in life.
but if you’re generally tolerant young you’re generally tolerate older.
