Ah. Ye ol’ purported ‘quality of life’ issue.
That’s also called “lack of imagination”.
Doctor tried pulling that with us with my grandmother. Sees her for 5 minutes (while she was asleep after having JUST got out of a diabetic coma) and tells us, “She OBVIOUSLY has no quality of life”
Well, my mother railed into that doctor with fire in the eyes. I hope he learned his lesson.
Anyway, she had four more years with us after that. Yeah, she had had her leg amputated. Yeah, she could no longer speak. But she rarely spoke ANYWAY. [very introverted]. But she enjoyed eating and watching her favorite TV shows ’til she passed in a few years time.
The quality of life argument is horseshit to make for somebody else.
and… anybody who asks “how can you know she enjoyed anything if she didn’t speak?” is not a very bright individual.
