The network TV schedules that you, me, Charlotte Webb and many others here were raised on and form our nostalgia, prepared us for 9-5 office work where breaks are scheduled for you.
But in a modern household, a family watching Netflix together makes a decision when THEY want a bathroom break, etc. Not under the whim of those controlling the screens from behind the scenes.
Nothing wrong with nostalgia of course; you had no choice so you might as well make it bright and sunny. But in this topic, it’s objectively superior today.
