the hidden humanist comes out… the deeper good stuff.

I have a bunch of atheist friends and religious friends (I’m agnostic myself if I have stick a word to it) and my atheist friends are mostly super-awesome….

…except the Dawkins fandom.

I wouldn’t even mind so much, but I predict what they’re going to say three sentences ahead.  I try to break them of their script (the one they don’t even know they’re on) and I’ve had some successes, some I’m having trouble with but I’ll get there.

It’s not the atheism I care about but the cultism… and some of the ridiculousness that goes with it.

But once they break off of the script and actually discuss (instead of debate) things, the hidden humanist comes out… the deeper good stuff.

I just try to get them to take off the gloves, shake hands and grab a virtual beer.
