The definition I gave was Wikipedia, enough to satisfy a quick bit of curiousity about whether it was worldwide or not.
I can find a better definition. It did not come from epistomelogists nor from microbiologists to my knowledge but I don’t know who edited the wikipedia article.

Pandemic is basically a worldwide version of an epidemic.
