The current situation (or potential) with Devoss is equivalent to vegans being in charge of the megamarts or were the ones building supermarkets in bussing distance. Sure you’d get food but

The good thing about having an “on top” (and I hate to defend it) is there’s less places for baddies to hide.

I’m generally a fan of decentralization for most things *as long as* there’s some measure of general accountability. Without it, you can end up with strange little Twilight Zone backwards counties where “We do things differently ’round here” and it makes sense to the citizens of the community but from an outsider’s POV, it would be nuts or abusive.

I’m putting DeVos as the master Vegan who has wanted Veganism to be in schools for years but the State wants omnivores.

Choice made from up high though. Many of the schools built will be bankrolled by rich right-wing Fundamentalists and littering the country like Walmarts.

Who gives you choices A B C D E F G? Up high. $$.

If there wasn’t a $$ machine waiting for a chance to overturn the public school system into mega Christian centers of learning under the veil of “choice”, I’d be fine with it.

It’s a swap of oligarchies.
It’s not switching to a bottom-up.

I’m not anti-Christian. I’m anti *wrong* Christian.

I’m fine with Catholic schools. I’m fine with mainstream protestant schools. I’m fine with Jewish schools, Muslim schools, etc.

But you know this: follow the money.

If there’s true choice, I’m fine with it. If it’s a false choice, I’m cautious.
