That’s what diplomacy’s for though – for those that don’t see eye to eye.
But, I hear ya. Used to be a social rule, something like, “Don’t talk religion or politics in polite company” and really, it’s probably a good rule, just easy to forget.
I worry about creating an echo chamber on my Facebook so I work on diversity of opinion among friends. Sometimes it results in new, unexpected friendships and interesting connections. Sometimes they block one another. I avoided any political stuff on FB ’til 2014 when I took my first political test (compass) and I occasionally remember to go back to that mindset.
In any case, it’s UNICODE passing back and forth, images and videos. Never meant to cause any difficulty – I just enjoy the repartee now and again.
I often find myself going to military sites to gleam organizational information. It’s their duty to get it right and not screw it up. Plus, that it’s from the US Navy engenders my respect as they have the best in technical and theoretical knowledge of all the military.
I don’t do global politics though. It’s not in me. War is not in me.
War is not inevitable nor necessary. It’s at my core and always has been.
So, a lot of this reads to my ears as “Very Important Gossip” that moves troops and fighting and decision-making.
I find the abstracted form fascinating for ontological purposes but the actual is not for me. I saw the wall come down and never want it up again. It’s more of an expectation than an idealism.
I know. I moved to a monastery for a bit in my late 20s and is probably my retirement plan. Any religion so long as it’s Epicurean in style.
So if that gives you a notion of what I’m about.
I’m not President of Earth. I know my place in the strata.
I try to understand what’s in my scope, my range. What are my values? What matters to me?
That’s a lifelong quest and I’m always on it.
It’s probably THE hardest thing.
I work to affect the change I can. Active. *I’m* an actor. I might not be on that chart, but I could be on a chart.
