That seems to be a false dichotomy between “honest people” and what is presumably “not honest people”.
I would presumably be in the “not honest category” because I don’t see the automatic virtue in negative opinions.
The reason I am referring to these as “negative opinions” rather than as “truth”, is because it seems to be extraordinarily uncommon for someone to “speak the truth” and say something that isn’t negative in nature.
Is all truth negative?
That does not seem logical in any way.

Additionally, it seems to me that something happened with words like truth and opinion that is very similar to what happened to the words “literally” vs “figuratively”.
Opinions started to be referred to as Truth – and worse, as “objective truth” when they are precisely and accurately entirely subjective and opinion.
