Secularism is a part of American culture, Tom Marcinonis – religious groups that have been around for a long time have lived side by side, supported and encouraged science and reason before any modern atheist movements came around and these same religious groups assisted with the development of modern Science.

Reigned in by secularism? No. You’re assuming all have always been extremist. That is a ridiculous reading of modern history. [post 1700s]

It’s easy to focus on the extremists. They don’t make it hard because they’re stupid.

The 19th century concept of an uncrossable divide between science and religion has reared its ugly head again in the late 20th/early 21st century.
