Terseness. Why? Gamification?
Hit me earlier.
Movements that take less TIME are more efficient. More done for less work. But is it the full and correct result? That would be effectiveness, which contrasts with efficiency. (they are together but plotted on a 2D chart, not a 1D line)
So, looking at J Programming Language, which is a modern usable APL (array manipulation language), almost every CHARACTER _does_ something.
This “ah-ha” ALSO helps me ‘get': Math and logic languages. TERSE because each thing DOES something. Put this value here. Put that value there. Smush them together in a particular way or tear them apart. ACTION with least movement.
If TERSE was a video game, the characters or symbols entered are GAME CONTROLS.
I started looking at J in 2017 and just came across old posts of me extolling its virtues. Like most things I look at, I abandon it and then find it again.
So, I found it again and this is a deeper iteration. I guess I do all things like cellular automata creating a mandelbrot — coloring on a complex manifold, first shallow and then deeper as needed.
Many passes. Many, many passes.
Strange attractors Many Lagrange points. Shifting back to mandelbrot, I made this also in 2017, so my thinking was running along similar lines 2 years ago.
