Tandy Color Computer 2 was my first baby though. Then Tandy 1000 TL in 1989 and with that, a 300bps modem and “PC-Link” with Deskmate which got me online to chat rooms and BBSing. Thought it couldn’t get better, but then 1990 I got BITNET/internet access and well, that was that. Internet advocate for life. I wanted everybody online.

I don’t judge the young. My nephew’s 15 going on 16 and despite being ahead of him on memes from ages 6-13, after that it was all downhill and I can barely keep up. So whatever I could possibly dish out that he wasn’t alive for, he can match me with 7 layers of irony thick in a meme with inside jokes only a modern netizen of the 2010s could master.
