Someone’s dead. Game over. A car is a deadly weapon. If you’re too stupid to use it properly, you lose the right to drive.

A car is a deadly weapon.

If you don’t know how to use it properly, you lose the right to drive it.

Your defense of the driver and vilification of the person who was killed Danny Uribe caused me to immediately unfollow and unfriend you yesterday afternoon..

You are the very first person I unfollowed and unfriended that wasn’t based on being a spambot.

I appreciate our friendship and your opinions and would value it back again.

But this particular opinion is beyond. Someone drive a car and someone died. The person who drove the car improperly needs to have his drivers’ license taken away permanently and not excused for killing someone.

===

A real person is dead. If you want that as a hypothetical opinion that’s fine. But in this scenario someone’s dead. Game over. It’s not hypothetical.

===

Been on Facebook for about 11 years or so. Thousands of friends. Uncountable opinions. Never blocked anyone. Never unfriended anyone based on an opinion.

This time I did. I’m not telling you to change your opinion. You believe what you like.

====

Excuses. You should join his defense team.

====

Once you’re dead, you’re already responsible for your actions.

Now who ELSE should be held responsible for theirs?

===

he paid the price for her role in her death.

Wrong place, wrong time. Darnit, no do-over – I’m dead.

I should’ve known a guy was going to back up and squish me.

I’m so stupid. I should’ve been in the car instead.

====

Should they release the driver then? Clearly he did nothing wrong. He should go to all the protest events. He’s such a good driver after all.

Go into the political groups. LOTS of people are defending the driver. I mean a LOT of people are. The daily stormer article being taken down just fueled it.

You have a very common opinion rightnow.

You should be on his defense team then. I saw the videos. I didn’t see what you saw. But you’re painting a common enough rhetoric and perhaps there are others you can find who share your opinion and start agreeing with each other.

===

Perhaps you can paint a picture of his childhood and how hard it was for him.

===

Or how mental illness commonly emerges in one’s late teens. That’s a good defense.

There’s also the “brain isn’t fully formed” defense you can use.

====

But the “dumb b__ch” defense won’t sway a jury of normal people.

====

Argue those points then. You don’t vilify the dead like that to the point that the killer gets off scot free.

====

The same people producing the information you’re repeating are the same people that are planning to get people “on the ground there”.

===

The same people producing the information you’re repeating are the same people that are planning to get people “on the ground there”.

They’ve been. That’s where you’ve been getting them from. They’re spilling stuff all over the right news networks, forums, etc. They’re on a campaign at present and want to win sympathies.

===

And from what I’ve seen seeing, they’re winning the information war.

====

I believe he had mental problems. He’s “that one guy” that took things too far. Everybody else IRONICALLY talked about running over protesters. He actually went off and did it.

====

I’d feel bad for him almost but hey, two parents had to take time out of their busy sundays to find it in them to FORGIVE the guy that killed their daughter and deal with media.

The politics ends the moment someone’s dead.

===

Not directly, no. But do you have youtube ‘muses’ that you enjoy? Groups you have discussions in? They have a far and wide influence. Some of the strongest influence they have is over the thinking of people who consider themselves centrist, or liberal-but-smoke-pot-and-believe-in-gay-marriage, often with ‘race realism’ beliefs as well.

It’s been going on a while, their campaign. It’s very successful. This is just one small part of it.

Fact is Danny, I don’t care whose fault it is ultimately.

Someone’s dead. The courts can point fingers. People should take their stupid little shields and go home already and quit the traveling circus. it’s getting boring now and now someone’s dead.

Time to close the playground.

That’s an issue you can take up separately. But not when it’s attached to a body about to be lowered into the ground, where black boots are going to protest at.

This one needs to be left alone.

====

This is a “very bad news” situation and there’s no middle position that I’ve seen.

===

If you change your mind, I’d appreciate a friend request. I’ll accept it gladly and never mention it again. I don’t often know where *my* line is drawn but it’s drawn with this one.

But if you don’t, I also understand.

====

It’s a person, not a topic.

====

Every day people ironically talk about running people over. It’s a big joke. Haha, wouldn’t be fun if…

.. but nobody actually does it.

Then one guy did it. That changes things. The difference between a hypothetical, a joke, a “haha” vs somebody causing someone else’s heart to stop and beat no more.

====

“Wasn’t entirely his fault, you see.” Fine.
“She got what was coming to her.” Not fine.

====

Been on FB 11+ years. I unfriended someone yesterday after he held a strong opinion about the woman who was killed deserved it and was basically a horrible person anyhow.

Been talking to him, hoping to get him to see that he’s holding a very bad opinion. I welcome his friend request if he changes his mind.

I don’t think he will. But it’s a shame. He’s an intelligent person who picked up a bad opinion and is parroting it. I had to draw the line somewhere – never sure where it was… but this is a case where I don’t see a center position.

====

Look at who is the President of the USA. Look at the advisors. Your opinion is moving to becoming the majority opinion soon.

Your people will win. It’s a shame because it looks a lot like my people but it’s not.

Police state is coming soon. I’m just glad police departments try to stay independent of their larger districts as much as possible.

Still, I’d prefer the National Guard. I’d trust them more.

====

Maybe I mentioned this, maybe I didn’t. The reason that ‘clinched” this for me is we have a county next to where I am, Lee County, named after Robert E. Lee.

Everything’s fine. There’s issues but they’re being handled locally in a way the local people will be comfortable with more or less. In short, normally.

I don’t want people from Ohio barging in ramming cars into people, or people walking into streets getting run over, or people fighting with stupid shields like a giant SCA match. None of it. Doesn’t belong. I don’t care whose at fault ultimately because I don’t want it here.

I’m not defending the antifa. I’m not harranging the ‘fa’. I don’t give a shit about the alphabet soup ultmiately and ‘what they stand for’.

Get the hell out of the streets and go home. Get a job. Get a girlfriend or boyfriend. Something. Otherwise, police state. And each of us contributes to the continuation or the stopping of it.

====

Friend request always welcome. I just want you to understand why the he said / she said shit and the “my ideals can’t be hypocrasy” stuff doesn’t matter that much to me.=

===

He’s not though. I’ve known Danny online for a long time. We have differences of opinion and get into battles but he’s a reasonable guy. But some issues draw lines. This one draws a line for me.

But how do you tell a friend, “Dude, that’ one step too far?” It’s hard. Might fall on deaf ears. But I gotta try.
