Society can’t get its feelings hurt though. People do. People get actually hurt by society. Society doesn’t actually get hurt.
If there’s an -ism that’s grinding your gears in society, let everybody know if you like. It’s not hurting anybody PERSONALLY if you attack an ism of society.
But if you feel attacked when society is attacked, speak up for yourself. Society doesn’t need defenders but if there’s an aspect of society you like, defend the isms you like then.
Most people outgrow most of their adolescent rebelliousness by their mid 20s. Some people make it their lifelong causes too though. All depends.
Thing is, conformity is simple. Sign says “do”, you do. Sign says “don’t”, you don’t.
Americans (I think) are generally rule followers, even adolescents in full rebellion-mode. I don’t expect American adolescents to throw bottles with gasoline and rags lit on fire into buildings. Why? Americans are taught from a young age that property is sacred. I dunno why.
