So there’s plenty of stuff that’s “Philosophy”.

Yeah there’s different types of philosophy groups. The philosophy groups online *tend* to follow a similar pattern as this one [I was on two others many years ago, one around ”93, another around ’04]; focusing on the Formal Logic side of things.

But there’s other groups, other ways. My nature isn’t that of formal logic philosophy. Mine fits in the “Philosophy of [x]”. You can see the pattern in the Dewey Decimal system (my current obsession). When I threw my brain (writings) through an online dewey classifier (meant for librarians, not my brain), Time, then Epistemology/causation/humankind, then Causation, then Philosophy & Theory.

Now when you see Philosophy & Theory, you might think it was about Philosophy as it is in this group. But it’s DDC 401. What’s that?

Basically? The Philosophy of Language; how babies learn to talk, how do we conceptualize concepts; are we imitating or creating language a-new? Stuff like that.

So there’s plenty of stuff that’s “Philosophy”. But these groups tend towards a narrow form of Philosophy, which might have led to your disappointment. But I’m glad you’re still around; I’m always learning something new here; a fresh perspective on things that always challenges me.
