I have a bias: I’ve been fighting for youth rights in different ways ever since I was a teenager. On the early Internet (1990), I started up a general youth rights group for discussing issues like ageism and such. I was 18 yrs old at the time I started it, and I passed the torch on to others 7 yrs later.
A number of groups were offshoots of my online mailing list including TCS (Taking Children Seriously – a parenting movement) and NYRA – a US-based political rights organization. The founders of each met each other in my group and when I gently suggested they start their OWN groups and showed them how so they could focus better on their issues, they did and have become very successful.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/NYRAyouthrights/ – I’m not running this stuff anymore, not for a very long time. [I never ran NYRA – I just helped the founders found on the limited tools available back then] – they currently focus a lot on lowering the voting age to 16, drinking age regulations and stuff like that.
So, my bias declared: I always thought age =/= wisdom.
