So if they can move the needle of public opinion and get politicians involved, they have a chance to halt the success of Microsoft’s project in order to catch up and prevent Microsoft from absolutely dominating even more than they do. I will give Microsoft due credit: Over the past dozen years or so, their tactic has been to acquire companies and LET THEM KEEP RUNNING. I cannot fault Microsoft’s acquisition of Mojang in any way except the initial shock value; they kept the two things running in parallel – their own development and the originators. It works. It’s a good strategy and they’re doing it with OpenAI as well. I’m ok with this, relatively speaking anyway since I can’t get the open free world i want yet
