I agree completely. When I sit at the piano, I just play. I don’t know what’s going to come out of my fingers. A theme pops up in my head and I just go with it and it takes me wherever it likes, until my fingers get bored. Then I stop. That can take hours. Usually real life gets in the way LONG before the process can resolve naturally.
Similar to me with writing. I just start ’til my fingers get bored and stop or I reach the end of the comment box.
I have some cues for stopping through, although the ending can be abrupt from my perspective. I know people’s patience is thin for longwindedness, and if I want to be read, I have to stay short-ish tongue emoticon
