Should be interesting. Bring in the robots, I guess….? *

I’m just a generic citizen who leans to the liberal side of the fence. Being an average white male, I just get to ‘wait and see’.

But I also live in an area with a LOT of illegal immigrants living here, working the huge farms around here. Should Trump get things going the way he plans to, it’s going to be VERY VERY disruptive to daily life here and wreck a huge part of our local economy.

Some ppl during the campaign season said, “Oh, we’ll just have robots harvesting instead”. [’cause there’s not enough non illegals here to work on the farms]. So I guess I get to wait for the robots.

“On the heels of Dwight Eisenhower’s election, his predecessor Harry Truman remarked that he might find himself surprised upon assuming office.

“He’ll sit here and he’ll say, ‘Do this! Do that!’ and nothing will happen. Poor Ike – it won’t be a bit like the Army. He’ll find it very frustrating,”

Now for a dramatized answer to your question Jeff Wahl – here’s Fox ‘n friends hysterical take on the whole affair. I swear the whole Fox channel is designed to scare people who stay at home and watch the news 24/7. [then again, that can e said for most TV news… and most internet news… and… well, there’s only a couple of news sources I give credbility to 😛

 Wait a sec: *THAT’S* why Trump’s got Brietbart dude as handling public relations. lol – that was a pretty smart idea actually. All govts say one thing and do another. Who needs assurances? His core. Ah, score one point for Trump here. Then again:“Trump aides didn’t know entire West Wing had to be hired; Obama, after meeting Trump, plans to spend more time w him”https://twitter.com/MichaelCBender/status/797976169765212160

 Oh that’s ’cause most of those 31 states have Affirmative Action for low population areas. Votes count a little more. I’m actually ok with that. Good luck with your President. I just get to watch
=====
 [he’ll be my President come Jan 20th. ’til then though, he’s just a guy getting his training wheels on]

 Trump’s edgier and believes executive orders are magic. He sold himself well to the people he wanted to vote for him and it worked. Democracy did its thing here.We learned the elections are just gamed back and forth for each party as usual but not rigged. Our weird democracy works.Trump ran a better mudslinging campaign than Clinton’s did. That’s most of what I can attribute to. Trump tapped into every one of his constituents hopes and dreams and fears and concerns and used them as a prop to highlight typical political gameplaying, successfully hide their own while showcasing the DNCs. It worked.

 Now consider though: Your post here. You’ve won the election and a huge bravo is in order. But is this not engaging in precisely the things Kipling would consider unbecoming of a man?I”m not saying what to do – you’re your own person – but just consider how it comes across.No need to respond if you like: I just wanted to call out what I see.

I don’t know any pesky toothless rednecks. I live in a redneck neighborhood and they’re all around me. They’re my neighbors and they’re good people.

  Here’s where my house is Middle of the forest, close to the Everglades. The KKK is a block away from me (Grand Dragon dude) but they don’t cause any trouble here.I’m from suburban New Jersey USA from a primarily blue area.I’m independent. I make fun of ppl equally but I tend to poke more fun of people who are intelligent, which is why I poke fun at conservatives even though I’m liberal (not democrat but liberal). Conservatives are _supposed to_ be smarter than liberals, so I hold their feet to the fire more.
 ======
 I know. But still, this brief window of something sane coming out of his mouth needs amplification. Maybe some of ’em will listen. There’s people who worship him as their new Rome monarch (not understanding politics although Trump doesn’t either much yet). Maybe one or two people will reconsider. Worth spreading for that reason alone.

 If they’re going to remove the illegals, that’s fine. Its the how that’s concerning.If you don’t have any within 100 miles of you, then it’s not your problem. I’ll have to live through the process as it happens in real time daily. I didn’t see an effective “how” yet. AT present, the how (based on the promised timeline) can be nothing but “done the wrong way”.So, if you hear the ‘how’ plan with a decent time line, please let me know. AS it stands, the ‘how’ sucks.
=====
I’m talking about illegals being removed. You’re talking about an entirely different topic. I don’t give a shit about gun ownership or databases. You want guns? Have them. You want databases? Have them. I care whether there’s a plan that’s going to be disruptive and violate human rights or sane.

 Step away from the University ethics battles and political rhetoric and talk engineering. Give me some how info here.

 They’re soldiers in their own war now. It’s not my war but it’s theirs.Also, the people who DO know how to win a fight will have a leader who doesn’t know how to start one. He’s in training now, so I can only hope he’s ready come Jan 20th.

  I’m not trying to demoralize but help you see a reality that even Trump himself doesn’t seem to be aware of yet. He’s learning but really, 3rd time trying, 18 month of successful campaigning, I’d hoped for a _little_ research into the actual job description. So, he’s getting a 23rd hour crash course. Hoping for the best here.“On the heels of Dwight Eisenhower’s election, his predecessor Harry Truman remarked that he might find himself surprised upon assuming office.“He’ll sit here and he’ll say, ‘Do this! Do that!’ and nothing will happen. Poor Ike – it won’t be a bit like the Army. He’ll find it very frustrating,”

 Well, I just wanted you to see what a lot of your fellow Republicans are using as their info base. There’s a lot of them out there, and they’re influenced by this kind of thing.
=====
 After the 2k election, FL’s gotten put on extra watch for devious pratices. My governor tried throwing out a bunch of mail in votes but a fed judge says, “No baldie, no go”.Typical Republican gaming is: Turn voting into a “privilege” instead of a right and try to prevent or toss out votes in democratic areas.Typical Democratic gaming is: Encourage immigrants from far off countries to move into red zones in order to encourage democratic votes.These are governor’s tricks. 31 Republican governors out of 50 states.These tricks are as old as the parties themselves. Happens EVERY single election.

Oddly enough I believe their games balance each other out overall to allow for a more or less fair enough election process. Not that it doesn’t need improvement (it does) but overall, it seems to balance out.

===
 yup. and when ppl don’t vote, then whoever plays the best political gaming wins. Trump played a better game. [his mudslinging game was superior to the DNCs mudslinging game].
====
 It’s the moderates that fuck up the results. I’m a moderate. I don’t show up in the liberal column.But you’ve talked to me: I ‘sound’ as liberal as it gets. But I’m really liberal-leaning on most things, yet have conservative values for some other things. So, I don’t show up in those numbers as liberal ’cause i’m not. But yet, I mostly am.
====
  Excellent point. I’m glad I stayed independent. I couldn’t go blue for bernie as much as i liked a few of his ideas (not all but enough). Can’t stand the parties but I always vote.
====
 yeah I mean there’s a place for identity politics in the discussion – it’s not that it doesn’t matter at all… but by missing the michael moore connection, they blew it.
====
 Obama got the backing of his party, no prob. Clinton got a 3/4 hearted support of her party. Trump got 1/4 hearted support of his party. Different scene this time around.
