shaving breaks me out in a rash which is why I started wearing beards in my mid-20s. I wore a beard in my mid 20s, was cleanshaven for a few years and would constantly break out no matter how carefully I shaved (and I went through a lot of shaving devices, manual and electric and nothing made it better) until I gave up and went with beards permanently around 2005-ish. This was just before facial hair became popular so I looked “odd” for a few years. Then suddenly, the “elegant man” hair products came out everywhere. Early 1900s retro fashion, etc around 2010-ish. I wasn’t into that level of grooming but I had to laugh when someone would say “oh, look at you with a beard all trendy”.
