Scott Brizel I enjoy arguing back-and-forth with people when we have different opinions, and I hold as a goal to find the human there.
I have to wade through so many slogans and catchphrases and assumptions, and really bad guesses about my personality or psychology or background.
if I spend enough time with somebody, I can usually get it to a point where I can see the human coming out and they can see me eye 2 eye for just a moment.
if I’m lucky, it lasts, and we have a new footing.
but 70% of the time it doesn’t take much and it goes right back to the comfortable catchphrases and argumentation patterns, common for the Internet.
but if I can reach that point even once with them, I am OK
