You’re absolutely right, Johnathan.  But unfortunately, politics does enter Science and Science enters politics.

It’s a reality.  The ideal of Science is wonderful.  But it’s good to be reminded that sometimes the ideals and realities get mixed up and we don’t even see it happening.  I’m simply showing it.  It’s relevant.

It happens in the opposite direction far too often: Science promoters pawn off incorrect historical accounts. [Scientists are not known for being very good at History… social spoofs abound on that very subject for that reason].
Of course that’s not Science when they do that; but Science rarely happens in… no pun intended, “a vacuum”.  Science Education and Politics freely mix with the actual Practice of Science.  The purity is theoretical only, more of a “nice idea”.
