Same. It was always a source of pride but there’s no reason I can think of anymore for staying “No Party Affiliation” as I can do a greater good by changing. This morning, they updated my record. It feels new and strange but it’s time.

I had to do it six times for it to go through — the site is flaky and is probably getting flooded but keep trying over and over and it’ll go through.

I was always a proud “No Party Affiliation.” But after 3.5 yrs of EdgiTeen CoD unironic political edginess becoming the norm, mainstream and commonplace, I said fuckitall, decided I wanted to do a Primary for once in my life, and switched to the Flo rida De moc rat Pa rty. They have a Prog res sive caucus that fights with the main party whenever they do something stupid (again), so I’ll hang out there for a bit and see what happens.Reading this: and it’s less bad than I expected.

My actual politics? Nobody’d like it.

I hate swallowing my pride like this – the voter registration database updated JUST this morning to show “Florida Democrat Party” for me – and I have a slight weird feeling in my stomach seeing it.

But there’s no reason I can think of anymore for staying “No Party Affiliation”.
