Richard Stallman had it right long ago. Gist of it is Free is free. Anything else isn’t. But I wanted Minix to win the Linux/Minix war, and Hurd to win over Linux, but I usually back the unpopular side. “It’s time [to] explain the meaning of “Hurd”. “Hurd” stands for “Hird of Unix-Replacing Daemons”. And, then, “Hird” stands for “Hurd of Interfaces Representing Depth”. We have here, to my knowledge, the first software to be named by a pair of mutually recursive acronyms.”

While “not all Linux base” is a toxic culture, a good amount of it is. You can’t criticize Linux. This loyalty thing was always bizarre to me. I’m still at Win7 so…

====

If I had a box, I’d have one too. It’s really not that bad of a system (sort of like: “The US is really not that bad of a system”) as there’s a lot of great stuff on it.

But I stay away from the culture and stick to consumer culture.

=====

That’s where it really shines. I use my computers until they’re ancient and wrecked so I rarely have usable spares. I do have an IBM T40 Thinkpad with Win2k on it that I could put into linux but that keyboard is missing 3/4 of the keys now and I don’t feel like reviving it.

Do the code-pulling, the suing, the drama and news coverage.
You got shit eggs in the batch. It’s not like they’re special. The days of super-programmer are long past and replaceable.

=====

I did my coding time. Read the CoC. It’s just LinuxGate.

=====

It’s like 4chan meme gatekeepers. The future is for the young.

Blow it up. This was inevitable. Didn’t matter what reason or political rally D’jour. The legal basis upon which this was all founded was a weird mix of IP licensing that had its time. Linux gotta go now.

=====

Go for it. It’ll be fun. They based their server architectures on Linux? Boo-hoo. Should’ve paid. Linux ain’t free and never was.

====

“Oh no, we must give in to these Linux terrorists” You see – THAT’S the shit that’s gotta be ejected from the community.

You just keep proving the point.

In every organization, things change. Some can’t change and go postal.
My sympathy level is 0. Go postal. Cripple the planet. That’s work splendidly.
