t I think a lot of that work has been done in their different fields and there’s already plenty of overlap. Punctuated equilibrium for example reminds me strongly of saddle points (or the other side of saddle points… I forget the name… gravity wells? No, that’s not it… well, anyway – strange attractor Lorentz thing) and also of whatever that matrix is in neural networking that tells you “you’re getting close to matching up with the source”… some bayesian thing that was modified in neural networking.
I dunno – I’m just rambling but I think there’s some strong analogues between these systems and I’m sure a quick look around and somebody’s already matched things up. Seems too obvious that somebody wouldn’t have already, considering how much they seem to have in common already.
I mean there’s differences between genetic algorithms and neural networks and personality constructs through societal influence… but I guess it’s one of those things that ‘when you see it, it makes sense’ so it’s hard not to imagine everybody else not seeing it too.
Had another thought but I’ll put it in a different comment.

I realized after I wrote this last night (but didn’t want to say it right away) that what I did was unroll these three things and draw basic lines between them:
Evolution (Nature)
Implicit learning [grammar / etc]
Explicit learning
