Whenever somebody would complain about a “big company” (or govt agency) taking too long with something, I always say the same thing: “Probably on the back of a secretary’s desk. Just give a call to remind them”

It’s one of those “everyday obvious” solutions – that’s usually true – but when someone is wrapped up in crazy reasons for why something isn’t getting done that’s supposed to … and they take it personally and have all kinds of personal reasons why it’s “little me against big them” ,it’s amazing the results of a little phone call and a polite tone of voice can bring.
