Politically motivated 16 yr olds should have the right. It’s only one “extra vote” in a lifetime of voting and it gives at least SOME representation for people who are still in a compulsory schooling system.
Most 16 to vote are for local elections. Mayor for example. New skate park. Curfew laws. Stuff that affects young people they have no say in. They should have a say.
Maybe if they had practice in a vote that counted while still in school, they’d understand its power. But by 18, you don’t wanna know nothing after 12 yrs of having-to-do-something-you-don’t-feel like (school).
I doubt there be a sudden rush on 16/17 yr old voters. But those that want to, should have that right, esp if they’re working and paying taxes.
