I likely have sensory issues, although it’s all “just how I am” so I don’t think in terms of normal/abnormal there.
I get deficient input from my ears and eyes compared to what the brain is capable of. The nerves of my skin are always ‘talking’ (maybe using the spaces usually reserved for eyes/ears?), I have a hyper-awareness of my body position (Proprioception – had to look it up) as well – and my brain tears down nuances of taste in much the way a musicologist does with classical music.
Plus, they sometimes work together to bring a whole picture of experience while also keeping me aware of their component nature. Sometimes I’m not sure if I’ve seen or heard, tasted or touched something though. It’s more like, I dunno, “pressures” or “textures” of different types.
Some people have said it sounds like I have synesthesia but I dunno. It’s just how the world is to me. Normal for me.
