Please welcome to the BBC Doctor Who family: “Doctor Who: The Boys Only” edition.

Despite overwhelming support for Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, the BBC recognizes a segment of imagination-impaired fans, including Doctor #5, Peter Davidson, who have some reservations about Doctor Who continuing to be a role model for boys (although he is otherwise completely on board with Jodie Whittaker as Doctor Who).

So, in light of this, the BBC is proud to announce a parallel show in simultaneous production to serve their special needs.

I made this in satire :) My opinion is that Doctor Who has always been a role model for boys and girls so a gender change of the Doctor is really no big deal. It’s completely in keeping with the show. Plus, with 50 years of a british white male Doctor, it’s long been time the Doctor regenerates into a british white female Doctor. .

The shame of it is, there are other people who played Doctor Who who are older than him but who are completely on board with her. He’s the only old fart in the bunch but he’s even not THAT committed to his opinion. I think he just “can’t imagine it” yet.

I’m so glad we finally have a Doctor that’s not British white male human but something a little different: a British white female human. So many possibilities that have barely been explored yet.

But for fun, I made this.”Doctor Who: The Boys Only” edition for the imagination impaired. [Peter Davidson will be on board 100% once he sees Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor. I think he just can’t imagine it, being steeped in an old-world boys-will-be-boys freemason handshake cricket Oxford vs the other thinking. But once he sees it, I think all misgivings will go away]

 The Doctor can be anything. That’s why I don’t understand why people are making such a fuss about it this time around. Then again, somebody ALWAYS makes a fuss when the Doctor changes.
====
 Oh no, a woman. Must be a leftist conspiracy”. Even if it was, doesn’t matter in the least. They’ve been talking about a female Doctor since 1980 that I’ve aware of. It’s *long* overdue. The character’s been kind of stuck.
====
  Most of the people inserting their own political problems onto the show don’t even watch the show or understand how it works. I’ve seen so many opinions that say, “I don’t watch the show but…” or “I stopped watching in Tom Baker’s years, but I think…”
====
  No. It’s not a small example of SJW hijacking. The character was going to be a woman in 1982. But they did Peter Davidson instead. They thought about it after the 9th Doctor. They didn’t do it. Thought aobut it after the 10th Doctor. They didn’t. The 11th it was sure to be a woman. Wasn’t.It’s been in the planning for decades now. I’ve been waiting for a long time because I want to see what a female Doctor will do. It’s the same character which is what makes it such an interesting avenue.
=====
  It’s not pandering to cultural Marxists. The political problem is coming from those who have a problem with a female Doctor that DON’T even watch the show.
====
  I thought she was blond. My point is, it’s not SJW politics getting in the way. It’s the politics of the anti-SJWs that are inserting THEIR politics onto MY show.Complain about some other show.

 Of course some do. Did you know that EVERY regeneration people bitch and moan for some reason?This is just another reason for people to bitch and moan.You know what happens every time? They spent two months complaining and then suddenly, they’re fine with it. Happens every time

  If they were diehard fans, they’d understand how regeneration works and why it doesn’t matter.Example: The bad guy, the Master regenerated into Missy two years ago.Guess what? NO OUTRAGE.
====
  What’s unique about the Doctor changing gender is that it’s one single character – the Doctor. It adds a new dimension to the character that wasn’t there before. All of the male Doctors are still there in her. When the next Doctor comes around, she’ll be a part of that Doctor who, whatever gender the next Doctor is, etc.That’s one of the things I always liked about the show: Different face, different personality, same person.
====
  I’ve only been an American watcher of the show. Started in 1978 when I was 6 with my grandmother. Only Doctor Who fan I ever knew in real life until I was 17.Just me and the Doctor and the TARDIS.But I remember rumors about the next Doctor being a woman right from when I started. So I’m used to the idea and I’ve been expecting it for a long time.- Oh I loved Capaldi. But I loved all the Doctors, eventually. There’s always a breaking in period. I had some trouble with Colin Baker at first but he was my first regeneration experience that was “live”‘ for me and not a rerun.

 I’m going by the #’s. Doesn’t invalidate your opinion that it was to goad but the #’s seem to indicate otherwise.

  I read the usage of the same phrasing as ironic more than goading.

 it’s all where you go online. I see the opposite but I go to the places where humans should not go.
If you see a 50:1 ratio, then you’re lucky indeed.
