People who haven’t been involved in school systems in decades might not realize that one ENTIRE GENERATION (Generation Z) has now grown up with active school shooting drills on a regular basis for their ENTIRE SCHOOL existence. GenZ esimated: 1997-2012. Columbine: 1999. The first lockdown/Active shooter drills started around that time. Oldest GenZ entered kindergarten in 2002: POST-911 also. The oldest GenZ are now 27. My ne’s 19 – he was born in 2005. They expect a school shooting at their school. They wonder if they’ll be the school shooter. “Will it be me? Will I crack?” Questions we didn’t have to ask ourselves. I’m not presenting this for solutions. I have no solution. I’m not suggesting any of this stop either. Maybe this is exactly correct for American schools to all do regularly as we have for the last 25 years. But understand WHY other countries no longer look up to us as much as they once did. We’re angry all the time as a nation. We fight each other over dumb things. We have built up hostility and we’re ready to explode at a moment’s notice. Why?
