People get tired of EXCITING NEW NEWS all of the time and start thinking pragmatically. Mass austerity ensues as the people begin to ignore the new oligarchy and start cooperating locally.
But factions from the far left organize in secret and begin a slow revolution as the right remains satisfied with their Twitter feed and 2018 is when things begin to heat up again.
He’s said it himself though. If he doesn’t do it, someone else will. And they do. He’ll never die because he never lived.
I don’t get addiction to symbolism in general though. People forever would ask me, “What kind of tattoo will you get?” [they always want me to get one]. I say “When I find a symbol I can die on me.”
And I’ll do it. But I’m 44. Still haven’t found a symbol yet worth getting inked.
Thanks. I don’t even consider myself “better” for not being into symbolism. I just don’t ‘get’ symbolism. I suppose they get something out of it that I don’t. Some feeling or sensation. But I’m learning that my generation (Gen X) seems to have this in common. I hate having something in common with my generation but I guess I do.
Yeah, same with implants. I remember when getting horns implanted in the head was the ‘thing’ in the early 1990s. (New jersey). I was like, “that’s great if it’s you thing” and always politely feel the horns ’cause they assumed I cared.
But really, I dont. nubs of plastic in your head? Whatever floats your boat.
I’d consider transhuman implants but the problem is interfaces constantly change. I got a marvelous little pocket printer that requires a parallel port. Find me a parallel port.
Got a VHS-C digital tape camera. Requires Firewire. Who uses firewire in 2016? Nobody.
Had an IR mouse. Which laptop uses IR now? No one.
So yeah, tech implants? Not ’til there’s stabilization in stanardization for some decent length of time.
