people freely organizing in groups to form geopolitical areas is fine. Compelling others to do so is a different matter.

internet’s a great place for a voice. Free market might move you around a bit but eventually there’s a place for free speech. Same with reality.

====

Fair enough. What I mean is: if a group of [x] wants to all live on the same block and buys up real estate to live together that’s great. Good for them. So long as they don’t break any local/state/federal laws.

But if they restrict free access to other citizens of the same city/county/state/country from traveling through or purchasing real estate there as well, that goes against the constitution.

====

People who want free real estate through violence and coercion I can’t agree with.

===

Thing is, somebody’s dead now. In the minds of the public and most political leaders, that’s game over time.

====

If nobody died, there’d probably be march after march onto wherever you’re looking to head towards.

But that one guy who always takes things too far, took things too far.

====

Right wing media covers it but all the red circles and lines get less and less credible even to my moderate right friends. That dailystormer blurb was another “guy who went too far” moment.

====

Now if you could get David Duke to pipe down, you might have more footing. But he’s not helping whatever you guys are shooting at, for every time Duke praises Trump, you lose more of the moderate right and the “liberal because I smoke pot and believe in gay marriage but otherwise i’m right” folks.

====

Some people like violence and death spilling over into the streets forever. But to me, they got other countries for that shit already.

====

I know a few people you could easily get on your side but you guys seem to be in some kind of hurried rush rush situation which is what makes it flop.

Charlottesville was a bad idea. It was carried out badly. Handled badly. Organized badly. A group of people who look like a Frankenstein movie mob looks like a frankenstein movie mob whoever is taking the pictures.

Control the chants. Control the rhetoric. Control the groups from within and you’ll have better luck.

Mind you, I’m not for your cause. It’s not my cause. I’m a globalist, pluralist, mush-all-people-together-until-they’re mutts kind of person.

So take what I say with skepticism. But from an outsiders pov, it looks like a messy bumble.

====

Oh, and please, get rid of the damn shields. Looks like a stupid video game from the late 00s. The whole show played out like a bad LARP gone wrong.

Anyway, that’s my 2 cents. I’m all for free speech but when I see white men doing stuff like I saw, I’m embarassed.

====

Of course you did. The shields were still stupid. Can’t take it seriously. Face your free speech like a man and if you get clubbed, you get sympathy.

AT least people wore their real faces. That part was good.

====

60s nonviolent black civil rights activists still hold the candle for the right way to do things.

Black panthers used the wrong model.

The more you look like black panthers, the more the civil authorities treat you like black panthers.

Why shields if you don’t expect fighting?

If you expect fighting you’re doing more than just exercising free speech and it’s clear to any civil authority that the group is looking for battle.

====

I’d never trust local police. I’d trust National Guard. But bearing shields sends a signal whatever the reason you have them.

====

I’m just trying to help dude. I don’t care why you brought them if you keep going to battle or decide to give up and stay home.

But when I see something being done badly, I’m gonna say it.

====

I believe in protecting free speech, whoever is speaking. But there’s right and wrong ways to go about things. if you WANT a police state at the end of this, then you’re doing everything right.

====

Reasons vs appearances. Gotta keep both in mind. At the end of the day, reasons only sound like excuses.

====

I’m sure it does. It was still a mistake to use the shields.

====

I’m sure. Don’t care. Now that somebody died, the tables shifted. Suddenly the shields look like preparing for war.

====

You brought the shields. Somebody died by he car of someone was carrying a fascist shield earlier. Guilt-by-associaton. That’s why groups are starting to disassociate from the UniteTheRight and saying “we’re done with that now”.

====

You brought shields. You expected a fight. A fight happened. What was the surprise except that somebody took it too far and rammed his car into the crowd.

====

Guess who got the sympathy?

Eh you’re probably right. I hang around absurdists and nihlists and stuff, so my perspective is warped.

—-

It’s fun. I didn’t know where my dividing line was ’til someone died and someone else goes off and tries to desecrate her character.

That’s why I turn into Playground Monitor Mode. Can’t help it.

—-

You understand my perspective now. Thank you. That’s from where I’m coming from. Fa/AntiFa suddenly turns into letter salad to me, a kid is lying dead in the sandbox and the kids are clamoring to convince me “oh, he threw acid in my face last week!”, “Oh but they brought clubs” and I’m like, “go home to your parents”.

Perhaps it’s an irresponsible perspective of mine. But it’s automatic.

—-

It is. It’ll pass. When? Don’t know.
