Otherkin, Furries. I forget that I’ve known my whole adult life. Back in 1990, I was part of the Elfinkind Digest, not as an Elf but as an “interested others”. It was an interesting group and I looked forward to each compilation email.
But, I’d lost the email address as I had to unsubscribe for summer break, and on 09/1991, asked a friend for it again.
I was surprised to find out that I was an early-ish member as it was very active when I started. It was founded “1990-03-26: R‘ykandar Korra‘ti founds the Elfinkind Digest , a mailing list, and sends out the first one on this date.”

Now in 2018, there’s a mock “furry war” going on at TikTok – nobody takes it seriously – where the brave TikTok memers are attacking the scourge of TikTok furries or something.
It’s all a bit of ridiculousness but it feels good to know I’d been around at an early part of things.
