Only in physics can they really get away with talking about time in the fashion they do sometimes because of how time is defined in physics.
Planck time is the smallest unit of time used in physics, (although there is time linked to quantum gravity which is smaller but i think nonstandard).
it’s linked to the speed of light which means it’s linked to photons.
this means it’s linked to some characteristics of photons.
personally I find this limitation irritating because that means they can talk about “breaking time” but all it means they did something smaller than the measurement.
that’s a big deal.
that makes it incoherent but only due to the measurement system we have.
A smaller unit of time would require re-configuring the system but I don’t see it as impossible.
