Only if they believe in issues that take time to develop and/or don’t directly affect them or their kids or grandkids — so far as they know. I’ve heard this again and again in my life: “Why should I care? If it doesn’t affect me, my family, my kids or grandkids, then it doesn’t matter.” So, for example, I have an local HVAC company advertising on Instagram and his ads are all “RIP FREON”, EPA bad, “HCFC-22 we’ll miss you” with crying emojis – and occasionally links to “govt is lying to you” things. Doesn’t inspire me to become a customer – and doesn’t have a whole lot of likes so I’m thinking it doesn’t ring well with other either.
