Online ed is the way to go. There’s also a lot of fantastic youtubers that provide excellent education and kids are self-educating even now.

Some of Khan’s videos are a little odd (the son of a friend of mine has been doing Khan academy stuff in an alt school since 2013 in Vermont) but generally they’re pretty good.

[of course a lot of youtube is crap but they also find the good stuff, and there are at least a _few_ responsible adults providing entertainment while being aware of their audience and try to be honest and educational as well]

I _don’t_ think full privatization is the answer *unless* there’s full transparency and oversight.

But, given enough safeguards, it can work – but only if the safeguards are in place to prevent fraud [as you currently see in charter schools]

Done wrong, full privatization will be worse than public schools. I can say that without a moment or a drop of hesitation.

But done right, and only if it’s done right, it can be marvelous.
