One of the things that started my quest in copying/pasting most of my facebook posts/comments to a website was for save keeping _because of_ way Facebook’s javascript (and refreshing on phones) so freely zaps whatever one is typing.

Now, 10 year later, _sometimes_ it’ll be recoverable on a phone… sometimes not. Meanwhile, I’ve been saving most of my comments as I type exactly for that reason.

I’m not as vigilant as I was at that time – but since I was working on the thought collector idea anyhow, a few incidents in a row where I’d typed some pretty good stuff just to have it wiped due to a keystroke error on my part or a refresh on theirs that I made a deliberate habit change that I’ve kept since.

I’m not presenting this as any kind of advice or whatever – just a note of understanding at the frustration of lost typing – and an excuse to talk about something I’m sure I’ve talked about before but like talking about. For me it was enough to change my routines
