One if the things that originally drew me to Kenneth Udut . From day 1 he didn’t treat me like a child
It’s my honor to hear that Koen and thanks! Yeah, I don’t see people’s ages. I see capabilities and stuff but ages I don’t. Of course there’s obvious stuff I’d pay attention to if I had to but there’s nothing I say or do where it would matter one bit what someone’s age is.
Always bothered me as a kid to be treated second class. I told myself at 17 I’d never forget that feeling and I haven’t. There’s not much I can *do* to fix things really but I keep trying just the same and I do what I can wherever I am.
Most things do get easier as you pass the magic “ages”. Some things get harder of course: there’s invisible protections surrounding you right now that suddenly go away without warning. Social protections that just ‘vanish’.
But with whatever protections you get at certain ages, there FAR MORE lack-of-protections. Being under 18 in the USA isn’t the worst country in the world to be under-18 in but the country could do a LOT better than it does.
Where you come from always struck me as very forward and youth seem to get more rights than in the USA. But that’s just an impression I’ve always had. But school life is one area that’s hard wherever you go I think.
