On top of it all, that’s why I’m the greatest fan of grassroots things that bubble up from seemingly noplace. The popularity of Minecraft, a magic carpet ride I decided to take while it was happening, is one and I love how it rose up from not much and became popular from the start and grew because, simply, it was *new* – like genuinely new on the scene and it found its base quickly, who spread it amongst themselves ’til Microsoft buys them out for billions.

Of course the runaway success stories are exception, but they definitely appeal to the anarchist-of-good-things in me.
