Ok, in chasing down “of”, “on”, “in”, “about”, “a-” to find “betweenness”, I looked up Chinese notion of causation as “west vs orient” are often compared in studies. An interesting study suggested the west is more focused on causation, the east more focused on correlation, and it clicked. [the rest is my own thoughts] Correlation is what? Association. Association is not causation although it can be. So, simply being correlated leaving aside the question of causation allows a connection to be expressed without giving primacy (no firstness or secondness values necessary, no part/whole locus necessary.
