ok I have reached the point where I’ll stop the book I’m reading from Dennett. From this point on it’s Words, Memes, “cultural evolution”, and using illusions to prove things.
But it was good for me up to “Brains made of Brains”, where he talks about Affordances of neurons.
He’s a little too political about Darwinism at times BUT I admit that I liked “Darwinism About Darwinism”; the notion of a scale from a proto-Darwinism to Darwinism itself is tempting, putting evolution itself to evolution. It’s my first Daniel C. Dennett text; it confirmed where I suspect I differed and had in common with Dennett but I was surprised just how much my thinking was in common and in what places. But where it differs, I could feel it.
