Oh we can stay with the snake. The stick/snake is a simplification of reality from our brains due to evolutionary needs and it makes errors. But I was going to go into the point of “we make construct reality – and had a long piece I wrote about “what if everybody said it was a snake and you said no it’s a stick” then realized it was too soon for that, so I brought up fictional books instead.
