Oh the actual trolley problem?
It’s a forced choice which means somebody is forcing me to make the choice. I’d
a) Untie the one and switch the track to that side.
b) go after the person forcing me to make that choice
c) jam the mechanism because machinery is machinery which means either the SWITCH, the TROLLEY WHEELS or the part of the rail that moves to shift the trolley over can be maneuvered.
Lesser choices:
d) self-sacrifice
(throw myself in front of the trolley before it reaches the switching point, letting the choice be random — because it’s a horrible hierarchy that would force this choice upon a person)
and every other choice below that really begins to suck badly.
e) Take my hands off and not choose, which leaves me with a smug “I chose not to choose which makes me superior” – the common response of political Centrists.
f) get on the trolley and face the consequences of my forced choice completely (this is the : “the avalanche is my fault” and the one you were advocating with the snowflake build up)
g) “Might as well kill three if I’m gonna kill one” and go Joker mad
