Oh Rick Scott, you’re recycling your rags-to-riches story. Most of your childhood was spent in an average American home and yeah, your family *did* live in public housing during a short time you probably don’t remember much of. [age 3-6] but come on. You addressed black lawmakers with the assuming that “you all” grew up in poverty too. You got a lot of unchecked stuff going on up there. You were great with hurricane relief efforts. You’re generally a big Boy Scout in a lot of ways. But as a Senator? I dunno. You call yourself a maverick that’s going to shake up Washington but don’t they all say that? Eh, well, whatever. You got the money to run and you’re popular enough but with your family’s business-political connections and anti-public pro-wealthy-private-citizen-heavy rulings, you’re going to have a tough run against Senator Bill Nelson, as you’re more of a Katherine Harris than you may realize, and Bill Nelson is a solid centrist performer with broad appeal among every demographic and knows how to accomplish in an environment that can tear mortal man apart.. I’m not going to go “rah rah” for anybody in this race but I know it’s going to be a fight to watch. “A Sun Sentinel review of Scott’s background found that, as a boy, he spent the longest single stretch of time in a three-bedroom, two-bath home his parents owned in Kansas City, Mo. Before then, he and his family did live for about three years in public housing in Urbana, Ill., beginning when Scott was 3 or 4.”
