Oh most definitely! I love how you dove into the striatum/gaba/basal ganglia/thalamus with the dopamine coming in from left field zone; I’ve read something that analogized much of what the basal ganglia does in the GO/NO-GO tasks to a “hierarchical bayesian brain” model — and there’s a lot of work that’s been using that model as an mathematical metaphor for these brain functions and I think it touches into exactly where you’re at It’s funny i’m realizing that I’d spent a lot of time in the hippocampus but very little with the basal ganglia – thankfully enough that I understood the pathways and mechanisms you were referring to – and I haven’t dove down much into the GABA level even though that’s the ‘food’ here.

but yeah, I’m not way past this – not at all – it’s right at my level – maybe a bit beyond – you’re in areas I’ve only touched a little in: everytime I see GABA and Basal Ganglia and auto-associative array, I think, soon, soon, I’m working my way over there. Soon” – as I seem to hang around the hippocampus, brainstem, cerebrum and up to the Pre-SMA
