Oh for sure. It was the era of “motivational speakers” too. If men weren’t going out to find themselves in the desert, they were paying $1000s of dollars to listen to folks like Tony Robbins (I think he’s still around) telling them how to get anything they want in life.
[I had motivational tapes from him and listened to them all. A few things were actually useful but i found out him and all the rest mostly repackage 1930s “how to be a salesman” stuff over and over, adding in a little bit of 1980s “Neurolinguistic Programming” (NLP) techniques that are supposed to subconsciously get people to do what you want, etc]
