But not in Reaganomics which weren’t so much his fault but folks like Newt Gingrinch and others in Congress who yielded much power:
For a VERY short time a mortgage was considered an ASSET so that if you applied for loans such as college or car, having that mortgage counted AGAINST you. It was treated as liquid cash when it’s not.
So, I could not get the full funding I needed to do more than 1.5 yrs of college.
It wasn’t long after that, they fixed it and now mortgages are counted as a liability, as they should be.
There were thousands of little “tricks” they snuck into the tax code during Reagan’s time. It’s not that Reagan caused it, but he either didn’t notice or care.
But yes yes as a negotiator with Gorbechev he was brilliant.
So they kept flashing lights on the audience and EVERYBODY STOPPED DANCING and WOULD FREEZE until they turned the lights off again.
This SO pissed off Billy Joel that he flipped over the piano and started smashing things while singing.
This wasn’t part of his act. He was MAD at the authorities for spoiling everybody’s fun.
