Oh a lot of these disciplines suffer from marketing problems. I mean, I only took one explicitly named Women’s Studies course yet it was fascinating. It was 3 months of putting on another pair of glasses to see the United States with. Different history, different people of importance, intersecting with stuff we know in unexpected ways, movements that we don’t learn in high school but were influential. I can see how it could fill up a whole degree. It’s no stranger than an American History degree, or a degree in US Government. It covers all the same kinds of territories.
