“They are so close, they are so related, but there is something about the sound of dream pop that resonates with more with me on a deeper level. I love both though. Shoegaze is a little more experimental and the music is a little more complex and layered and it can be a little more dark, but it is still beautiful and it is still great music. I love the atmospheric elements of both, but there is something about dream pop that feels more personal and more introspective. It is a little brighter and a little more hopeful and a little more positive than shoegaze and I like that.”
