Now that’s a skill. I’m always on the search for “perfect words”, as I think there’s a ‘best way’ to describe most things when in their proper contexts so when I find them it’s a treasure.

I like letting people lead in debates, watch their strategy, look for weaknesses. Success is often them saying “oh I’m bored with this – you’re wasting my time” or something similar.

I try to turn conversations my way and lead them off their tracks

One technique I like using is agreement. People who want to argue hate agreement. They’re fun to deal with because they’re super slippery and I can make the most perfect point in agreement and they’ll still find a way to take it in a disagreeable way.

Ah yes, for live back-and-forth chat, yes, that works great .I have a habit of getting out of my chair, walking away, coming back again. It’s a bad habit really, but I sometimes get a wall of text when I get back again.

Caring is good. I do the same. It’s caring to give them space to do good, stand or fall without you for a bit, with you not knowing how they’re doing or what’s happening.
it’s hard though. it’s giving them freedom but you might not get the satisfaction of knowing how things turned out.—
Yeah. I mean, if they have a dependency on you, it’ll take as long as it takes for them to realize they don’t need you.—
Oh, we’re all dependent on each other. Humans are social even when we try not to be. It’s just balancing that.

My favorite socializing fix I get online. I get control over time and words like I’m doing right now.
