Now I’m understanding why the mathematics part of Common Core implementation is problematic: Many teachers themselves are bringing their OWN math anxieties to the classrooms and teaching it right alongside the Common Core… so instead of “Hey, there’s many ways to solve this!” it’s becoming more of the same, “Yes you got the right answer but that doesn’t matter because you didn’t follow my steps (and/or show your work). Fail.”
